Wish I could say I knew what went down here or that I had a story behind it, but literally I was just listening to the song one day not long after another jaunt through Darqx's gallery and the HH group and this just kinda... appeared randomly in my brain. And then it stuck there for a good 3 months until I decided to avoid my homework by drawing again.

I think it was prompted by the fact that Darqx has used Linkin Park songs for pictures before (my brain just loooves making sudden connections). And, apparently partially inspired by this!
I didn't even realize that until I was looking for reference yesterday. XD Go me.

AND OH MAN I GOT SO MUCH REFERENCE. I don't think I even used all of it, I just don't trust myself to draw anything decent without it usually.

I left my outlines scribbly again though. I should probably stop doing that, I'm pretty sure I'll need smooth, pretty outlines one day.

Well, in the end I'm just happy it looks like Izm. He's looking a little more smug than I think he did in my head, but I can safely say that this is pretty much one of the best things I have ever drawn ever, especially digitally.

I think basically the way it works is that I get two or three magical moments of actual artistic skill every year, and then the rest of the time I just get to suffer. Super glad this was one of those good moments though.

I realized last night when I finally remembered sleeping exists that this is my first real fan art for anything! WOOO!!
